GT3 RS clutch and flywheel for my 997S??
Anyone put in a GT3 RS flywheel and/or clutch in thier regular Carrera 997S? My car is at the dealer with the tranny off so i was thinking of telling them to put the GT3 flywheel and clutch? What's your opinion? Any idea how much it should cost?

You may also want to talk to GMG and Sharkwerks, both sell LWFW for the C2S. I am thinking about changing mine. The LWFW may need a few other parts to make it work properly. Check out the GT3 section, as there are some warnings about RS Flywheels.
I was also considering doing this but u was told by my local Porsche dealer that it can't be done, it's a completely different tranny and setup is what I was told. let me know if I was misinformed though. Gdluck
The transmissions are different for the GT3/RS and the 997 and you can't use the LWF from a GT3 in the 997. There is a different kit for the 997S. If the clutch in your car isn't new, it might be a good idea to change it while you're in there as it's such a big job removing the transmission.
Here's a short video I made showing the difference from stock for downshifting and revving at idle:

Another good test is first and second gear acceleration. The flywheel is most beneficial to the dual-mass equipped NA Porsches. We've put lightweight flywheels in the Cayman S and 996 shop cars, and a "lighter-lightweight flywheel" in the RS.

It takes about 6-7 shop hours here to complete the installation. I'm not sure what a dealer might charge though.
Thanks guys. I've ordered a FVD LWFW from FVD Brombacher in Florida. I'll try to get a video up when done. I'm kinda worried about the chattering noises that are common with LWFW's, but i crave the performance increase enough to deal with it. I also ordered a IPD plenum.

I'm with Alex on this. And additionally, the lwfw works INCREDIBLY well with a supercharged 3.8. It's one of my favorite mods. The car just feels better, and deceleration from high rpms is much smoother.
Imagine that you're out carving up your favorite backroad. You're in 2nd gear exiting a turn, floor it, race to the next turn and the engine is at redline when it's time to turn in. You are still in second. You let off the throttle all the way and move your right foot over to brake. With a stock flywheel, the car is less stable because the decel isn't as smooth. This could cause some unwanted drama in the rear tires even. But with the lwfw, the decel is much smoother, so your next turn is as well.
