Lowering a 997 C4S

I have the HRE P43's on order, brushed finish, 20's.

I am considering the damptronics or Champion springs to lower the car. My biggest concern is that I want to maintain drivability of the car (100% street) and also want to be able to continue having the ability to continue using PASM.

Any feedback here?

go for pss damptronic over springs especially since you have 20's and your ride quality on the street would have deteriorated somewhat even with stock suspension. the damptronics will not only give you much tighter handling but more comfort in normal and sport modes so long as you do not lower too much.

Anyone ever happy with springs? I am trying to figure out the same solution RY997, although mine has 19" hre's. I hate to spend the extra money on coilovers, but haven't gotten any positive feedback on springs only. Looking for any advice as well...

I have a '06 C4S lowered about 1" on TechArt springs. Car looks perfect without compromising the ride. Bought them through C.E.C. (Claus Ettensberger) in W. Los Angeles. No problems and am very happy. About $1,200-$1,400 installed.

I have had both Techart springs and Bilstein Damptronics, I had no problems with the springs, but the ride improved so much more with the CO's. Any sports car that I buy will have them installed as soon as possible.

I'm in the same boat and am leaning towards Damptronics since it's gotten so many positive reviews over just adding springs. But can you really tell the difference in street driving or does the improvements really come through on the track?

That is the real question, isn't it? The same voices on this board (which i respect btw) who strongly call for Damptronics are also track guys for the most part. Everytime this question comes up, they answer so strongly forDamptronics that i wonder if it drowns out happy spring owners? Probably wishful thinking on my part, of course i want a less expensive solution

I have H&R's on both my 997 and 996TT. I'm not a big track guy and the springs work for me. A full coil-over is a better choice but comes at a significantly higher price. I had coil-overs on my last 996 and do not notice enough difference for the the difference in price. For the track coil-overs are a much better option.

depends really on how much you plan to lower, and your budget. iF your balla status, get coilovers, you won't regret it. Trust me i have been there.
Good luck friend.
