Carfax check?
I do have 17 charaters, it shows on the carfax website as an 2005 997 C2S, was wondering if i could get more detail on the car, in light of the financial turmoil, I think this might be my chance to finally get a Porsche, I am looking to buy this car used from my local dealer.
My dealer also mentioned that the odometer was replaced at around 35k miles, however, I cannot verify this since the odometer is now reset to about 7k miles, is there any to determine the true mileage that was put on the car? Would it be possible to determine the correct mileage by using the Porsche service computer?
Here is the VIN again:
WPOAB29935S741895

Dear Izzone,
Sorry I made a mistake on the VIN number, I mistaken an integer "0" for a letter "O", please refer to the correct VIN as followed and please run it through autocheck again.

I'm sure someone will help you out with this - just thought it was funny to see someone ask someone else to run a report. On another forum, they tore the guy up.

Pirated Carfax reports should be prohibited on this forum, as many forums do. The problem with someone providing a Carfax report to a third party is that their terms of service do not allow this. When you ask someone for a bootleg report, you are asking them to be dishonest and break an agreement they voluntarily made. This just isn't right. No different than stealing something, except you are also asking someone to help you do it.
If I were Carfax security, I would join a lot of car forums, search for these kinds of posts and go after the perpetrators.
Carfax can make a lot of trouble for our forum. Please do not respond to these posts asking for bootleg reports.
