Maintenance light reset?

Hey All,
I have a MY 08 C2S and was wondering if there is any way to reset the service message that comes up when you first start the car? I do my own oil changes and therefore have no need to go to the dealer. If there is a way I would greatly appreciate any input
Thanks,
D

Not sure if there is a little trick that may work but I do believe that Durametric software does have a program allowing you to do this and a few other good things.Check there website,I am actually contemplating it myself.

Durametric can reset it for you. It may be of use for other CEL's in the future. Just used mine to reset an airbag warning light after I forgot to plug in part of the circuit after installing my painted center console.

They should reset it w/o charge. It is probably for the 2yr/20K mi service which involves cabin filter, maintenence check and other sundries and goes for $850, not $330

I'd give it a bit more time than 5 hours in the early morning on a Monday following a long vacation. ;-) If you had no response within a few days.. then I'd worry. I've already got an OBD-USB cable for my VW diagnostic software... I'm wondering if that will work for the basics such as resetting OBD related reminders and warnings, clearing fault codes, etc. I'd imagine the setting features part will not work, but I'm not sure I need that.

Before I posted I tried the durametric, not sure if its not loaded for MY08 but it didnt work, I was wondering if there is a reset protocal, like pressing the info button, holding the reset on the trip, and cycling the key...... anything like that or is it hopeless?

Harvey in MD is infamous around these parts
I also have an '08 that's a year old with the service light glowing. The dealer said the car needs an oil change and as part of the oil service they would turn off the service light at no charge. I asked if they would turn on the door locks to activate after car movement. They said there would be a $65 fee to activate the door locks. I asked why the fee since they were already using the computer to turn off the service light. They said.. the door lock activation program is in a different program on the computer. Give me a break.

As you are local(ish) to me I could do it for you as I have a PIWIS which is the same as the dealers have. I could also code some other functions on your car like, remote control windows, indicators in lieu of side-markers to name a few.

I am near Greenwich if that is any good for you.

Yours is a 2 minute job and uses the same computer as the one used for the service reset.

Hello Nick, Are you still offering in resetting the service lights. I have a 2005 Porsche 997 C2 S. I live in the Hoboken area and willing to take a ride up to Greenwich.

Thanks
