Lowering Springs advice
Lowering Springs advice
I'm looking at the Techart springs for a 23mm ride height reduction. How much will these springs change the ride versus a stock non-Pasm 997.2 C2 setup?
Much more trouble going over speed bumps or anything else I should be aware of?
reasonable labor rate for install?
Any other brand I should consider and if so, why?
My car sees no track days.
Thanks all!

Since there are no takers, I'll offer a small bit of personal perspective. I just completed (haven't yet done the alignment) the lowering of my 997.1 S/Cab with Bilstein Damptronics. Thus I can't do the compare with the spring-only replacements. I would suggest that you consider going with the Damptronics instead - in that the spring-alone mod won't cure some of the shortcomings of the OEM coilover internals.
Separately, depending on where you live and your driving habits, 23mm is a LOT lower. There are a few forum threads (on Rennteam 2.0 as well) about lowering, and 20mm seems to be the limit of driveability - re dealing with uneven roads, driveways, etc. I've also read that lowering to the level you're targetting brings the car to the bump stops quite often. I've ended up lowering my car 18mm and any lower seems impractical. By the way, if you go the Damptronics route, at least for spirited street driving, you'll likely be very satisfied. I know I am.
It's always a matter of owners preference, there is no right or wrong answers here, but thought I'd offer some free advice. You always get your money's worth.

P.S. In a bit of shameless personal promotion, you might want to check my recent write-ups in my blog - showing what I did, and how I did it, along with some pointers to the observations of others.

I was under the impression, though, that the Damptronics system is only applicable to PASM equipped cars. Is this not correct?
The 23mm number I used isn't so much a target I've set as a number I believe I saw that resulted from Sharkworks use of the Techart springs on their Kermit 997.2 project car.
I'm not looking for a slammed look at all I just want a bit less gap b/w tire and wheel well.
Thanks again!
Mea culpa. The Damptronics IS for the PASM car. I didn't look carefully to realize that yours wasn't.
For the non-PASM car, Bilstein makes another model that is more adjustable than the Damptronics unit. Others may chime in, but I wouldn't doubt that it would yield equivalent (or better - I've heard) results. And can be height adjusted as you seek.

This is very helpful information and I appreciate your time and help.

Techart springs are made by Eibach and the difference between the two is probably very minimal. I would save money go with Eibach Pro-Kits....

For a non pasm application I would try and obtain the euro -20mm suspension kit. Try Gert at www.Carnewal.com
Pasm cars seem to respond very well to lowering springs, much more so than non pasm cars for some reason. You other choice would be any high quality coil over (H&R, Bilstein etc...).
