Simplest way to connect ipod?

whats the simplest way to connect a ipod to a 2008 997 with navi? ive seen dension units? but that seem soo complex... Does porsche offer anything? can i use the 09 armrest unit ? help would be great appreciated! id also like to be able to control it from the steering wheel and see the songs on the screen.

Thanks!

Go to the suncoast parts website at the right and then go to electronics... Porsche offers a system that connects to the FM antenna input of the PCM. You need to use your IPOD to control the music but its OEM.

Dension is easy, install might be tough for some, but the Dension is like a CD changer once it is working. Sound Quality is good, better the FM modulator.

Yes it will. They say it is FM modulated but I have been told what they do is tap into the actual FM input of the PCM so their is in fact a hard line. You have to use the IPOD for all music functions except for volume.

To be honest I would do it yourself if you are even the least bit inclined. If not, I do not know a good high end installer than can be trusted. To be honest I do not like relying on other people for installs etc if I can help it.

Easiest way?

Just kidding...

Dension provides the best interface with the most function, and is actually pretty easy to install.

The Suncoast part is the official Porsche kit for pre 08 models. And of course they now have full IPod integration in the 09's.....

They all have their pro's and con's. The latest version of the Dension appears to be the way to go as just about anything can be integrated including bluetooth etc...

I will probably go the Porsche OE route (suncoast) as I really do not care about having to use the Ipod to search through music and electrical gremlins scare the crap out of me.

Hi all... I am totally confused by this subject. Did the search and have found a lot of different answers. Just picked a 2007 cpo c4s. Would love to add bluetooth, xm sirius, and ipod (things we have on our Honda Odyssey damnit!). There doesn't seem to be a concensus. My local dealer will not do any of this stuff and recommended a local stereo shop. The dealer I purchased from in the bay area is actually doing Tooki as a dealer installed option. I've heard good and bad about both and am not sure what to do. May just stick with the jawbone for know, but would love to add ipod or satellite radio. I guess I am going to keep researching. My 05 M3 has ipod hookup via an aux jack. I control the songs from the unit itself. I guess I've gotten used to that.

I have the mObridge, ipod plus bluetooth. excellent unit, no issues and controlled via the PCM. No personal experience with Denison - but it seems to me they are very similar.
