Do you need it as daily driver? Drove all. For DD 3. or 4. and for fun 1.

I looked at your first 3 choices and settled with an 07 997S.
What I liked about the Am was the incredible styling, the sound, the interior design, and the name. Some detractions were: anemic engine, suspect reliability, may be an expensive daily driver and the fact that the 09 is such a superior car that even at a bargain price you feel like you should be driving more of a car. The C4S is a great car but heavier and slower in a straight line. If you're looking at an AM why look at an 07 911S? It would still be $5-10k less.

I am assuming that you still have your Armada, if so then get the C2S, if you need something to get you around in weather that is less then desirable then, get the C4S. If not get the CTT for more space.

The AM Vantage will feel like your S5, big and fairly quick, but not fast and nimble. I drove one and it reminded me of my V8 S4.

If you want it for looks, the AM is an easy first pick, followed by the C4S (aero kit with wide body, very nice).

+1 on this recommendation. I'm probably an exception, but I see nothing of value in the AM. It's a more expensive Jaguar with more suspect mechanicals. Moreover, it's really not appropriate an compare with either of the 911's. It's plush, soft, an all gentleman's GT all the time.
There has been a lot stated back and forth on the AWD vs RWD. It's quite obvious that I'm an 'S' fan. A bit lighter, a bit quicker and a bit more steering feel.

But most of AM owners are ex-p car owners... There gotta be some reason for that..

The AM is a step up on the Porsche in terms of the exotic ladder. Its a far more exclusive car compared to P-cars which are about as common as the Civics in my neck of the woods. Thats probably why some Porsche drivers migrate to the A.M. ,and also the fact that most P car drivers where I live drive them like they drive their Toyotas and really don't appreciate the full potential of their cars.
As I mentioned above, the '09 A.M. is night and day different than the pre-'09s and certainly worthy of a look. I know I'll be looking for a used one in a few years. Until then I'd rather not drive a $120k car which will get spanked by a 370Z or a Mustang.

09 AM vantage is def. a night and day difference in performance, but also in the price.

I am 60% on the vantage and 40% on 997s, but keep comments comming guys.

The choices.
1. Dark blue with Fox red leather (orange) interior 06 Vantage with 10xxx miles. $64k
2. Dark grey with Black with stiching interior 06 Vantage 10xxx miles. $65k.
3. Black on Black 06 997 C4S with FULL Vorsteiner V-GT Kit 13xxx miles. $59k
4. Black on Black 05 997 C2S PCCB Techart kit (wheels) 20xxx miles. $55k

It was hard to narrow it down to four cars from 123098 cars that I have looked at.

tomorrow is the day that I will make my decision when dealer opens first thing in the morning.

Thanks guys for the comments!

get the dark blue vantage. If you don't like it, you can sell it to me for 40K.

The 4 cars you listed with the exception of maybe options 2 and 3 target completely different buyers.

AM = A classy "gentlemens" car.
C4S = Daily drivable sports/touring car.
C2S w/ PCCB = Pure sports car.
Cayenne GTS/Turbo = High performance SUVs.

IMO you posted in the 997 forum for a reason and that reason (I'm guessing) is that you like/want a pure sports car experience... for that reason I would say: Get the C2S or C4S. If you already have a DD, get the former. That way you don't have to kick yourself for choosing the AM when (like stardoc said) you get spanked by some 25k cars.

Heck, even the Cayenne Turbo would spank the AM in a straight line. Food for thought.
