H&R springs and H&R rear sway bar
Hey guys just wondering, ive heard that the bilstein damptronics is one of the best ways to lower a 997 , but its alittle to pricey. Would there be any handling issues or whatever if i install h&r springs and sway bar instead of paying 2-3K for bilstein suspension?? thanx for your help

I have the H&R bars, combined with the Damptronics, car corners extremely well! I would save your $ and put the CO's in instead of the springs. A 997 lowered on springs is a totally different beast then one lowered on CO's. I had springs on my first 997, and will never install a set of springs on a performance car, CO's all the way.
BTW the cost to install both the springs and the CO's is about the same.

I would keep my eye open for a used set of CO's if I were you, and as Ed says, avoid springs. Don't only look for Bilstein, there are other good companies that make CO's...KW for instance.
Good call, in the end you will be much happier.

Ride is firm, but not too firm for street. With the Damprtonics, hitting the sport button makes it a very capable track toy. Car feels more planted, deals with bumps and dips a lot better. Springs are compressing the shocks, therefore limiting the total range of the suspension. Car can be corner balanced with CO's, springs can't.
I thought the Springs (Techart) were great, once I tried the CO's I new that the they were far superior.
