Installed fabspeed cold intake....check engine light is on!?!?!
10hp isn't much...it may be there, it may not. You aren't going to feel it in the butt-dyno and 10hp on a real dyno can be the difference between a hot and cold day, etc. The sound is definately different. And it definetaly looks better. Are those reasons worth the problems...probably not. If there were no problems with it, it would be a good, cheap mod that would be worth a shot.

I was considering this also and would love to hear from those who added the CAI.
I installed the Fabspeed Cold Intake on my '09 C4S about a week ago, the check engine light keeps popping up. I spoke with a tech from Fabspeed, he walked me throught the install, according to them everything is installed correctly. I remember the video on their site saying, "NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS." Just wondering if anyone else did this and has the same problem. Thanks.
Not sure if it gains anything but I can tell you the sound definitely has turned more raw especially inside the cabin.
So sad especially coming from a board sponsor
? DUH
Don't care if it really works, I got it for the looks, and it looks awesome. Im sure I'm not gonna get tons of HP for $700. Just don't want the damn CE light to pop up.
What does this have to do with the price of tea in China? Who cares? It's his money and his car...
To answer the OP's question, though, unless there is something vastly different about the intake/air mgmt on an 09 versus 05-08, you may have inadvertently dislodged the MAF. Otherwise, it should be a straight 5 minute swap with no positive gains other than a slightly louder sounding intake...
