Thanks Larry!

If it wasn't for you, I could be driving around in chrome wheels. These looks much better!

Way to go Steph! Congrats on your first Pcar.

Larry- You really are the man, I gotta say you have to be one of the most helpful people on this board, time and time again you are helping someone, you should actually start charging for all your advising, J/K, rep points (as if you need them) on the way!

How much do you guys think ceramic brakes should add to resale. I've noticed that they seem to add about $5-10k on the price over KBB.

I believe when ordered new they were a $10k option?

Two schools of thought on CB. One is it severely limits the number of potential buyers which drives demand and price down for a CB car v.s. a non CB car. The expense to repair/fix is off-putting.

The other is that a buyer who is looking for CBs will pay a dividend.

Summary: If you wait long enough, you may find that buyer.

Great info in this thread.

I'm keeping a watchful eye on the 06 - 08 C2S market also. I'm starting to see some 07 and newer Turbos in the mid to low $80's... and these are asking prices.

Buyers market is great... for us buyers anyway.

Steph280, I too was fixated on that gray/terracotta C2S. I got frustrated that they wouldn't budge on the price. The more I looked, the less liked it. This thread helped a lot as well. Thanks everyone.

That particular car had nice options and the car is in good condition overall. If it wasn't for the high mileage and DME scan, I'd probably be driving it already. The terracotta two tone interior is nice, one of the nicest interior combination I've seen.

I wonder why they're holding the prices so tight since it's been there a few months already. Give it few more and price will probably fall to a more reasonable level.

So, you feel that around 6k miles per year is high miles? I don't know the exact in service date though. 18k / 3years. That gray/terracotta was at $72k out the door it's just too much. That's why I like the 06 gray/blk with 21k miles for $10k less. inservice date is 9/9/07.

on the gray/terracotta. they are holding the price for around 22 more days or so and then it goes wholesale. I looked at it very close and there are many paint imperfections and the sunroof has 5 touch ups that don't match paint color at all. The color combo is great though. would have to lose the wheels for sure. It's just not the right car. Glad you found a great deal on your car.

What do you think about this one?

I've found 2 what look to be similar 997's. Black wheels, lowered, red 'S', and tinted windows. Wondering if these cars came from the factory this way?

Both examples I've found were 2006.

I've found one w/ 8k miles asking 55k......what do you think would be a fair offer if DME came back fine?

The red "S" is not stock . I have seen it before .. looks nice . I'll guess the previous owner was in his 20's .. bot that it matters too much .

Need to know the options .
Low optioned - 53
Decent options -55
Heavily optioned 58 .

53 is the point of origin.
You can always go up .

Hmm, thanks Larry. For some reason I recall I've seen a similar car before in San Francisco, and then to find two cars down South that are look the same was interesting.

Reflective badging has been discussed on 6speed. https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...e-s-badge.html

It looks nice.
Any time i see anything painted for sale it opens the door to recommend a thorough and detailed paint inspection -- especially on the rear of the car.

Recent Buying Experience - NJ

Test drove 05 CS at a dealership. First time drive. Nice. Not as neck snapping as my Z06 but more refined, quick, and it has back seats. 9K Mi. Very clean. Ask was $49K. Looking to trade 06 Z06 w/29K mi. Their bid on my Z was $35K trade-in value. They didn't want to move on price of 911. My last offer was my Z plus $8K, left my card and walked. Will keep looking. My rationale was that there are probably CPO 06's to be had for $5-6K more so why buy this. BTW, this site's been incredibly helpful. Figured I'd post to give insight to others.
