Deactivation of seatbelt chime

Does anyone know how to deactivate the seatbelt chime? It drives me insane. I do wear my seatbelt but, have a habit of taking it off when parking, turning onto my street, etc. Thanks...

Acknowledge the Chime

On your steering column, there is a lower lever on the left side. Push it forward to acknowlege the seatbelt chime. Note that this will not permanately disable the chimes.

Best Regards,

Hmmm, I do this on my 09 and it does not cause the chimes to actually stop, just the display to change from the "Fasten Seatbelt" warning. On the bright side, the porsche chime's nothing compared to a BMW "b-l-ll-l-l-l-l-liiinnnnnnng...b-l-l-l-l-l-l-liiiinnnnnnnng!!!"

Your dealer can disable it with a PIWIS tester. The red light on the dash will remain but can be canceled with the trip computer stalk. Note that it will still chime in the event you take your seatbelt off while you are moving, but will not if you start from a standing stop without it.

THANKS EVERYONE. I'm using the trick to cancel until my next service, hoping to tip the mechanic to shut it off for good. =)
