Water Spot Removal

Need some advice on how to safely remove water spots on the roof of my Basalt Black C2S.

Tried to use blue Zymol liquid wax which removed most of them but not all.

Any suggestions?

I think you'll need to do a light polish to remove the stains completely. Keep in mind, wax is just a sealant/protectant. It may not be best suited for removing water spots. I'd shoot Phil from Detailers Domain a PM or phone call. He should definitely be able to set you up with some good product to get rid of the spots, or give you some better guidance.

Ironically, I just realized the amount of water spots I have in my paint since moving to South Florida. I have a good wash/clay/polish/wax planned for the near future. Where in Florida are you located? If you're nearby, I'd be happy to give you a hand.

You can try lemon juice diluted with water...it's acidic enough to remove water stains but won't harm the finish. It may remove wax as well so you may want to rewax the area you used the lemon juice.

Try a very fine polishing compound inbetween cleaning the surface and rewaxing. The reason wax doesn't completely remove hard (as opposed to soft) water stains is because it etches the clear coat ever so slightly.

Vinegar works too... if the water spots are too bad.

distilled vinegar will work if it isn't etched. if it is polishing or compound maybe required.

hey tom are you going to waterfest?

I have used Swissvax Cleaner Fluid followed by an application of Swissvax Zuffenhausen and that has removed the water spots.
