How much MPG to expect?
I haven't seen fuel consumption below 23 litres/100km (10mpg), Sports is always on. Likewise tyres never see 5000km. I find that even idling around town it drinks fuel like it was an Oktoberfest. Not sure if the X51 is meant to be more thirsty. I work off a tank of gas for a 2 hour drive.
Wow, the the 4wd and the x51 no doubt that thing really sucks gas! Or petrol in your case! 3k miles out of a set of tires, now that's pretty intense. I hope your talking about Sport Cups or you are really an animal on those tires.
Conditions were the same as far as traffic, no A/C. Had sunroof and windows 1/2 way down on Del Dios, everything closed up with econo on during the Hwy portion

I can see it though, w sport off the car seems like it works much harder. On ramp entry for instance felt as if it required more foot in the throttle. Even if it is slightly more, same with passing. That could explain the roughly 2mpg variance. weird indeed. I am glad though. I appreciate and love sport mode even more now.
I just drove my new 997 on a trip; averaged 23.5 mpg at average
+75 mph over a six hundred mile course (eastern seaboard so no hills to speak of). This is actual not the computer info. At highway speeds it should be pretty easy to get + 20 mpg.

I have the econo version: C2/PDK.
I can get 27 on the highway at 70+ mph. In the city, I can get 16 or so with Auto/Sport off. With M/Sport on, 14 or so and with M/S+ - 12 or so
.
Nice to have options...if(when) gas goes back to $4.
