I found some rubbery speckles on the inside of the wheel liner, so that might be it.
As suggested above, rubber from the tire on the exhaust is also a possibility.

i seem to get the smell in the cabin when I have accelerated very hard.

Harvey in MD is infamous around these parts
If you are using the Sport Button, release the clutch peddle much quicker than normal.

I don't have a sport button on mine. I have the basic 997 S.
Pretty sure I'm not riding the clutch, but I'll try it faster.
