I am a novice driver at best. But usually err to the side of safety. I was pushing the car to about 95% of my personal ability, and it had A LOT more to give. Did not lose traction even once, did not feel it give out ever. Cannot think of a turn / curve that I did less than 55mph on, and there's definately some hairpins (rated at 20 - 25mph) turns there. I was afraid of high oil temperature, but car stayed <= 250 degrees C oil temp with no overheating issues whatsoever. Checked onboard computer averaged 48mph from start to finish... stopped twice to let my friend catch up, and slowed down on the straight-aways. not bad, very very impressed.
I went with a buddy with a Nissan 370z.. In all fairness we were about the same skill / driving ability I would guess. He was behind, but not wayyy behind. On crazy sets of twisties I would lose him in my mirror, so I would guess 30+ car lengths. But alot of that was him, I don't think he gave that car all it had, just like I didn't. Must respect his car, for < $35k it was pretty solid the whole way also.
Met another P-car driver 2006 C4S, really cool guy. Drove a heck of a lot better than me. I managed to keep up, since he was showing me the way, but otherwise I wouldn't have the ***** to take turns that quickly! He had a 6speed.We drove in tandem for about 8-10 miles, then stopped to talk at a pull-off. I mentioned the 6speedonline community to him, he said he'd check it out. His first p-car also, bought it 9 months ago he said.
All in all, well worth waking up at 630am! My heart is still racing a bit.

I actually thought about that on yesterday morning. Look for a place to drive the Pcar and i heard that about this trail. Lets organize it and get it going. I am in the pasadena area as well and it would be cool to actually meet some folks from this forum
Trending Topics
Once you start going up, there's actually a junction about 10 miles up, and there's 2 routes from there. 1 takes you up to the hwy 14 in Palmdale, which may work better for the LA guys if you're concerned about time. The other, which I took, takes you to the 138 by Wrightwood (15fwy area). The latter (wrightwood one) is the funner one as far as I know. You can kind of look it up on a map online and see that it's far more twisty on the wrightwood route, and it's also much longer whereas the Palmdale route is almost a commuter route.
And I'm certainly in for any plans that come up. Let's keep it on 6speed for now and see how many actually make it out!
Thanks for the route details shuffles, I appreciate it! I would just assume do the Wrightwood route if there are most twisties to navigate. I'm down for Sunday morning, August 30th to hit this trail. If we can get multiple people to commit to the 30th, I say we start a thread in So Cal forum to make it official.
Who's up for Sunday morning the 30th??

8/30 will be good. I will create a thread in the west forum but i do not know the trail so someone who has gone before will need to take the lead. I also do not know too many forum members so it will be a good way to get to know everyone
Sounds good, go ahead and create the thread and let's see if we can get a nice group to commit to the 30th. Hopefully, a 6speeder who is familiar with the route can recommend a good meeting spot to gather before we actually hit the trail.
