Agreed that $750 is a bit much, but thats the nature of having to piece it together via the parts counter, vs PAG/PCNA offering the friggen kit factory built as an option direct for the $300-400 that would be resonable for a donut and scissor jack.

 

Problem is that USA gets the lowest prices for new cars, so Porsche tries to save some money where it's possible

All other countries get some more options, but have to pay much more than you U.S. guys for a new car, so stop crying

I've considered purchasing the spare kit through eBay and other sources, but never take my car out of town (as of yet), so not as concerned about it. Instead I found a Porsche jack kit and stuck it in the trunk to assist in the case that I need to use the sealant kit. As long as it's not a major slash, I should be fine.

Of course, now that I've said it, I need to knock on wood and keep my fingers crossed!

 

So have the parts all come in?

I'm assuming its the wheel, the styropor insert, jack, lug-bolt tool, a bag to put the spare in, and a bag to put the whole kit in in the frunk?

 

do you have a 997.. clearly isnt anywhere on car.

I can sell the wheel, foam insert, jack, and tire cover. But I haven't been able to find a way to secure it. PM me if you need the individual parts.

 

So you can get us all the parts in the pictures of the quoted post above (wheel, cover, jack, lug-bolt tool)... now how does the Guatemalan C4 attach the kit in the frunk? Is there a central plate in that foam bit that provides an attachement point out the other side? What does it look like? Where in the back of the frunk would it attach to?

Just to resurrect this thread briefly, this is the kit I purchased from Suncoast Motorsports last week (thanks to Ric Knab for his help in putting it together).

987-722-061-01 Tire cover (old part number 987-722-061-00)
996-362-020-04 Emergency wheel (old part number 996-362-020-03)
996-722-101-00 Emergency wheel insert
996-721-211-00 Jack

The tire cover is canvas, zippered, and has four straps on one side with clips on each end. Inside the "frunk" there are two screws attaching the inner cowling that would be in line with one of these straps. I'm going to talk to my company machinist to see if we can get creative with some aluminum attachment points using these screws.

Here are a few photos, just for the record. For those that are interested, the inner diameter across the plane of the wheel attachment plate is 15.75" For a 997.2 Carrera (no S) without the PCCB's, this looks like plenty of clearance for the brakes.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a wheel lug wrench that would complete the kit? How about a decent torque wrench as well?
