Mod question for 997

I'm trying to decide on one of the two modifications for my 997. Install new mufflers or aftermarket DME? What is the biggest bang for the buck. I would love to purchase both modifications, but have limited funds.

Mufflers or DME Software?

Depends what you want out of the Mod. The DME will give a more noticeable change in power versus the mufflers. The mufflers however give you aural pleasure everytime you drive the car. I went for the mufflers.

Niether... after market headers and cats will net the biggest HP gains. Mufflers will give you nothing in terms of power (at most 5hp...debatable).... Between mufflers and software I would go with mufflers and save software until after you are done modding.....

Evo true CAI (12) with software best bangfor the buck IMO. Those 2 together will give very noticeable seat-of the pants feel and dyno verifiable.

definitely go for mufflers just for the sound. dealerships won't give you warranty troubles should something go wrong, and software gains on naturally aspirated motors are nothing to write home about. they're somewhat noticeable at best.

Another very valid point. Just a heads up to all of you 6speed members. We currently have a few EVOMS intakes in stock and have great promotion currently going on with free ground shipping ( within US)

Most people go through the same toss up as your going through. I would probably recommend doing the mufflers first if you can only do one mod at the moment. This will give you a few HP and tons of audio pleasure =) Now when you do get your software you will be able to have the file written for your exhaust and it will squeeze out a little bit more power.

We are running specials on Cargraphic System right now. Pm me back for details.
