One hell of a C2S!

Hey guys,

I was searching on ebay for GT3's and came across this C2S. Owner did a fantastic job with the mods minus adding the GT3 badge. Just curious as if anyone knew the car.

Stuff like this never makes sense to me. If you take the price of a standard C2S with the factory options in that car and add the 40K for the upgrades you could have bought a real GT3. I just don't get it.

Ouch I didn't even see that. Title is clean though so it could have just been a fender bender.

I don't get it either, but wow the paint looks so good it looks like it's wet! Pretty car, but of course that red mark on the report needs to be researched.

I'm with everyone else...what's the point?

The car looks good, but if you want a GT3, then buy a GT3.

IMHO, borderline ricer. Spend 20k less and it would probably be more balanced. HRE wheels, especially P40 are far more pretty, again IMHO

How do you consider it ricer when its built exactly to look like a GT3? BBS is far from ricer IMO.

Looks sorta like my old 997S.....

I dont think its ricer. I think its cool. Some people WANT the back seat and the 3.8 motor with the C2S setup for the street (softer susp, etc). Just because you CAN afford a GT3 doesnt mean that is your goal. Now why its badged a GT3 is beyond me but other than that i think its a cool Porsche.

This brings up another question... From the few things I've seen, it seems like Chicago motorcars deals with a lot of these nice looking but flawed cars. Is that a bad generalization? Does anyone know anything about these guys? I remember reading another post about a bad experience someone had with them.

It was just my opinion... I think it tries too hard being something is not. 40 should buy proper wheels, take the rear seats out, proper bumper and door sills.

I think they went cheapo in some of the upgrades. I wouldn't even start such modding if it wasn't to do it right. Perhaps not ricer then, something else...

Nothing against those upgrades, I'm all for it. But trying to be a GT3 is not even necessary, again, IMHO...

Not quite like that BBS.

The GT3 written below perhaps a sticker on that car, white versus gray. That's not that hard to replace properly.

Rear bumper

Alcantara and leather distribution. That car had some gratuitous use of carbon fiber.

Back "seats"

Door sill "GT3", on that car looks like a hand cut metal plate with GT3 hand written with some permanent marker...

DTOWNGT3 is infamous around these parts
My buddies has a C2S that was modded even more, but for the track.

Remember when C2S and GT3 were out there was a 40k to 60K difference in price.

I think his is for sale to:

Very pretty. The wheels match the car color nicely...The wing is #1 for 911, imo
