295/30/19 tires on 11.5" Carrera Sport wheel?

Hello:
Just a curious question: I've read about 305/30/19 tires on 11x19 wheels (i.e., turbo rears) or 305/30/19 on 11.5x19 wheels (i.e., Carrera Sport).

Is it possible to put 295/30/19 tires on the 11.5x19 Carrera Sport wheels? Too much stretching? Did anyone do this?

Thanks in advance to the technical experts.

~Bernd

Porsche N spec tires show max 11" for a 295 tire. To me it will be stretching it too far.

I have found info that says both a 295 and 305 should fit a 10.5 to 11.5 wheel. This doesn't take Porsche spec into consideration, this is a general range for tires. Since a 295 tire is 11.61" wide, I would imagine that it would be OK.

It's not within spec, but it's very possible and the stretch will be minimal.

I have the same wheels and I bought my car from a dealer on 12/22. I have a CPO, so they put on brand new Bridgestone tires. My back tires are 305/30/19s FYI. The fronts are 235/35/19.

Anybody have a photo of 295 rears on a 11.5 rim?

Trying to decide between two tires. Bridgestone has an all season 970 Pole Position tire but 295 is the widest they go.

Damon at TR cautioned me they may look stretched out. I'd probably prefer a bit of bulge for rim protection.

(I currently have Pilot Sport Cups in 305 on 11.5" Carrera Sport rims.)

Thanks!

Thanks - that might even be the same color as my car.

On my 305s it definitely looks like I have a bit more rubber sticking out past the lip of the rim. My car is a daily driver in Chicago with bad roads and lots of potholes.

What tires are those?

Those are Hankook ventus V12s. They only had about 3,000 miles on them when I bought the new wheels so I just switched them over. They seem fine on the 11.5 inch rims. That said, when I need new rubber in the back I plan on going with 305s.

Close. Mine is Seal Grey. Seems like all the greys take on a slightly different appearance depending on the light.
