Little bump on a DE day...
I think those wheels are from zero wheels, model zero 1. Not 100% on that given similarities among other crappy wheels
that's what I told him, but I don't think he's going to do it, he avoids confrontations as much as he can. Me in the other hand, kinda like it.
The stealership here didn't even knew the difference between 08 and dfi engines regarding oil measurement procedures. I believe that would be a good and fun thread;" what was the most stupid thing a stealership ever told you"

In the past I might do that, but mixing friendship and money never worked well for me.
Let him learn the lesson of being cheap on the wrong things. I would also insist on a new SET of wheels, considering that the other 3 are as dangerous.

Any warranty is most likely voided by the fact this happened on a track. I have heard a lot about aftermarket wheels failing lately. There have been several incidents at autocross events. There is a YouTube video of a guy loosing all four wheels at the same time. I would call the wheel manufacturer and see what they have to say about there supposed performance wheel.

The idea is to use selective alzheimer and " forget" to mention the track day. Not very kosher bit times are tough....
I got new blinker fluid for the track. My neighbor just told me he needs a new Cadillac converter for the muffler bearing system
Hmmm. methinks it may be time to open the bumper relay, take out an upload beverage and watch the crankshaft wobble.
Remember your tires and wheels are the (2) areas that contact the driving surface whether it be public roads, tracks or AX events. Putting unknown aftermarket wheels or low quality tires on your car just amplifies the chance of stress failure. Remember your well being or worst yet someone elses near you is at at risk. Porsches put a lot of stress on tires especially the rear set due to the rear end weight.
I think it's safe to say (pun intended) if you can't afford proper wheels and tires than you shouldn't be tracking or for that matter putting the car on public road.
OK now . . . . I'm off my soapbox.

As an update, apparently the wheel factory was apologetic and such, accepting the 4 wheels back. The suspension damage in his car, not that sorry. It seems that the acceleration versus hard braking took the best out of the wheel. Typical material failure due to mechanical and thermal stress.
Amanzingly he never got track insurance, which is not particularly expensive. He installed a set of Victor wheels, which for his sake, it better be good.
He also kept the crappy tires and wants a set of Michelin Cups for track days. IMHO, he is better of with PS2 for everyday use and track. It would probably last longer than the cups (TDW 80) and would be safer on the road, but that's just me. His report on the Hankooks is that they slide more often...
One thing that most would agree, Porsches are not for cheapos. Sometimes you gotta cough it up some cash to have thinks done properly. I do my regular service out the stealership but anything more complex I stick to them in order to keep my warranty...
Cheers
