Sounds like a sweet ride, but I would lose the rear wiper.

PCCB's if you can afford it. Aesthetically and performance wise it is uncomparable. Cheaper to buy as factory installed option ($8100) compared to dealer ($12k). Adapaptive sport seats, full leather, and sports chrono are a must have. Everything else can be put on at a later time and probably cheaper. You can buy a better and much lighter sports exhaust from Fabspeed for less than half the price of the fact sprt exhst. The standard white dials are hot and the carbon console is unnecessary @ $1600. At this price you can have an ECU upgrade that gives you 20hp or a piece of carbon plastic that does nothing.....your choice. Hope this helps. GOOD LUCK!!

How are you going to drive it?

If it's an occassional track car get the short shifter and the standard sports seats, but make sure you fit them. The adaptives, once set, are not worth $3k.

I would also go with the Carrera Classics (405) as they're easier to clean.

I would get Sport Chrono that will sharpen throttle response and stiffen the suspension settings in SPASM.

Don't bother with the thicker steering wheel unless you wear gloves at the track - you lose road feel.

Sprts exhaust is on a delay at the moment. Sounds wonderful on a 996, but won't make you any faster.

I would get the rear wiper where you live unless you drive a lot in slow moving traffic in the rain.

Dimming mirrors OTOH are worth it at night in traffic.

Black dials are easier to read than the bling aluminum ones that come standard.

Debadge it for a cleaner look.

If you're going for the Garage Queen GT get all the leather and carbon fiber you can, and the adapative seats of course. Try adding some 20" wheels to give it the full on effect.

I would forget the thick wheel and sport exhaust. Trust me this puppy is loud and nasty!
The adaptive seats are a BIG improvement over prior PAG offerings.
The sport chrono is the pick of the litter. It turns Bambi into Godzilla!
Have fun.

With taxes your going to be well over $100,000. Ouch!

It is the base 911( the other 997 Carrera really is a 996). Pretty pricey considering there are older Porsches which will outperform your car (GT3 and TT).

Go for the Carrera classic wheels (405) Aluminum look dials are standard on the S, look better than black. I would lose some of those interior upgrades and the sport exhaust, maybe trade for full leather interior (a must), still with tax and license your pushing close to 100K. If it's within your budget, go for it..

Or another option; buy the 997 carrera , SC it and add PSS9's, you will be money ahead and it will out perform the S, IMO

this does sound nice. I don't want to give subject opinion cuz it's your car and it should be built the way you want it. :-)

Good luck, can't wait to see it.

Rear wiper is a mistake, ask anyone who has one (it'll scratch your car). Forget the exhaust, you can get a better aftermarket one for a lot less $$$. I don't care for the thicker steering wheel, drive a car with and without one to see what's right for you. Drop the carbon, too much $$$ and not that impressive.

I agree with the others on getting the alu dials, wheels, full leather (much more important than the cf) and stainless door sills.

Rear wiper is a new design

It's plastic tipped and it lies at a completely different angle to the old one. I tried it at a dealer and it won't scratch.

Good to know. The old one was horrible.

Still a waste of money though.
