german paint
One claim for using Klasse wax products is that it works well on German cars. Is the paint different? Has anyone tried Zaino wax products on their German cars? I did a search in the Autopia and in this forum.
There have been tons of posts on wax products etc. including Zaino. I just put Zaino in "search this forum" and got 2 pages of posts on it alone. I'm not sure there is a huge difference between brands like Zaino, Klasse, Mothers, etc etc. They all make our cars look good if done properly.
i've used klasse along with just about everything else, (mothers, meguiars, blitz, 21c einzett, luso oro, griots, and others that i can't remember) and klasse seems to work as good or better than everything else. usually i'll do 2 coats of sealant then wax on top.
as far as wax is concerned, I like 21c cuz it doesn't leave a lot of residue...

What makes it a bit more complex is that the color of your car influences how the individual wax formulation looks.
Some brands will look especially good on dark colors, some look better on lighter colors. It helps if you can compare them side by side on your car to see what looks best. My car is silver, I tried several waxes, side by side, and Griots looked better...but it wasn't the best looking on a friend's black 911.

A bit off topic, but I just saw an old 911T today and I thought to myself, I bet the old cars didn't have to worry about paint chips and bugs. The paint looks so thick and strong on those old cars. I wish we could just pay extra and get old school paint on the cars so we wouldn't have to spend another $1,000 plus on clear bra.

Zaino user here. Been using it for years on previous German cars and now on my 997 and couldn't be happier. I think it really works well on Black cars. A little time consuming when you first apply (going through the Dawn wash, clay, multi layers, etc.) but really happy with the results.
I've been using Griot's Best of Show Wax on black cars for more than a decade both German and Japanese and I totally swear by it. Apply it by machine as it was formulated for and you'll get awesome results.
I totally agree with the statement about the paint. Many manufacturers have been forced to use water based acrylic paints and it seems to me they just aren't as strong as the old school lacquer based formulas. Blame it on the damn tree huggers.
For those of us who are old enough to remember 70's era cars you may also remember that "door dings" weren't nearly the issue they are today. Body panels were actually made of steel back then, not the "tin foil" they use today.
