I saw the aero kit for 2009+ 997.2 from Suncoast

on the bottom it mentions "Front and rear elements may not be fitted separately."


but, is it possible just to fit the rear without the front bumper? Will it matter that much if i do not track my car? My car is used for daily commute

It's just not recommended due to aerodynamic imbalances.

The rear wing provides a non-trivial amount of downforce that should be balanced by the front bumper/splitter.

That said there are plenty of members here who have fitted one without the other without any issue

 

I think they mean they won't split the order and allow you to just purchase the rear? I have to say those pics are terrible -- I really couldn't see how this kits looks.

I drove my '10 GT3 around town with no real trouble. Of course I had to be very careful around speed bumps, pot holes, dips in the road, driveways, etc., etc., but that's just part of the GT3 experience.

As for fitting a similar profile kit to a 997.2 DD, it may be more hassle than you'd like. Although probably offering about the same miserable clearance as a GT3, it's not a GT3, and so you don't get the upside that goes with driving the GT3.

In fact the gt3 aerokit looks like Porsche really took a lot of time to design and perfect it. The 997.2 kit looks almost like an afterthought in contrast.

 

I drove my 996 GT3 with out the front once at high speed and got blown around terrible
NOT GOOD. I understand the low clearance issue but its something you have to put up with with the GT3 aero.

ALSO thats the 997.1 GT3 aero package not a 997.2 aero package. For that much you should be able to get the
997.2 GT3 wing

 

Rennsport-1's car has the GT3 wing without the GT3 front bumper, we have tracked our cars together a lot and I never heard them having any problems...

Personally I would suggest buying them both, buying just the wing will cost almost as much as the whole kit...

I installed the GT3 front bumper first, and the car needed a lot more downforce on the rear... It feels much more stable over 80+ mph.

 

The photos on the OP's link are for the 997.2 Aero and the funny thing is that the rear deck lid looks all but identical to the 997.1 Aero. The main difference is in the front end but the back is almost identical. You can double check this at Porsche's website on the car configurator.

 

I saw an aerokit bumper at a dealer today and the intakes did not match up properly. I assume that this example was just improperly installed and there are correct intakes are available. It seemed to be the actual Porsche part.
