C2S Widebody
C2S Widebody
Has anyone considered building their own? My thought is to remove the front drive shaft and differential from a C4S similar to what many people did on the 996TT.
For perspective I love the widebody, but am not a huge fan of AWD sports cars. The pricing difference between the two is fairly negligible and it would be returned to stock before selling so it will not effect resale.

Ryan at RSR Autosport in El Cajon has done this several times - in fact, I just had a ride in one tonight. The owner is very happy with the mod - he say's "it drives like a proper RWD car now".
This is almost reason enough to get PDK for me. I wish 4wd/2wd was on a switch. 4wd for the street and 2wd on the track IMO.

Does this trick apply on a 6 speed ????
Am I missing something?
I don't know we can disable the front wheels. Is this a joke.
Have you ever tracked C4S? Specially the 997.1? If not, you'd be very surprised on how it performs! Top Gear got a better time on it than C2S in a closed course.
997.1 C4S AWD system is not as intrusive as 997.2, so it behaves a lot more like RWD until it slips, while 997.2 is more frequently engaged (better for snow/rain).
The only negative is the added weight which has the flip effect of making the car less rear-biased!
