Question Brake Rotors for C2S

I'm getting ready to change the brake rotors on the C2S. Anyone have any comment about which ones to put on? OEM? Brembo? Lots of options. And then there is the pads...

OEM...even for the track....unless you have a ton of money for Girodisc.

How many track days do you do?

This car won't see much track time since I have a GT3 now. There just seems to be many ways to go.

Then just use stock rotors...you gain nothing from the others on the street and even at the track the expensive Girodisc is questionable.

Are there any pads that don't put out black pad dust?

I agree that OEM for street only use is the way to go. I just did two track days with the Slotted Giro's, and I am very happy with them. Brakes felt great, and no cracking at all, OEM's would have been toast, or close to after the two days.

You get cracks at 2 days with OEM? I start seeing very tiny micro cracks at 2 days when I drive Sebring. My OEM rotors last around 5-7 maybe 8 days before I replace the fronts.

If you can remember please keep me posted on how many track days you get out of the Girodisc.

thanks! Mike

I mastered the art of super heating my entire brake system, the calipers were blackened, and even the new ones I put on before these days are turning black! The rotors would get half inch cracks front he drilled holes and I would replace them.

I expect a lot more out the Giro's as they are slotted.

Yep my calipers are a very dark purple/maroon color. The front more than the back. I and going to try out those titanium spacers you put between the pad and the caliper pistons to see if that helps with heat in the calipers.

I bought a set, didn't get to use them, as I installed new Pagid yellows at the same time. I will install them next time.

Anyone tried the Brembo rotors? They look good, but I don't know the cost.

The Brembo's are about 2x the cost of the Giro's. They are very nice, but very $.
