Curious, anyone know anything about Proxes from "Toyo" tires? Saw ad in current Road and Track, advertised for Lambos. The Proxes R888 looks pretty good, just wanted to know if anyone had any experience with them?

 

one of the best R-compound track tires. i use them regularly. not perfect, but very nice.

 

Rob I would not use a r-compound tire like a R888 for a street tire. It will wear out very fast and the R888 is a noisy tire. If you are looking for a track tire that you can use to drive to the track with then the R888 and RA1 are the best.

 

Great for the track, I've never really driven them on the street except for heading to the track. Don't wanna get caught in the rain with them

 

Just drove my first DE with R888s this weekend.
Great on the track.
Crazy loud on the street.

 

I wore out a set of R888s after just under 300 miles of track use. At that point they were still fine for racing but didn't have enough tread left to be streetable.

If you can mount them on a set of track wheels I'd go for it. As people have mentioned, they are crazy loud on the street.

 

They really are not made for the street. I don't care how loud they are on the street over the 1.5 hr drive over to the track. They are a good track tire and that is all I care about.

 

i run them on this^ and have to say they are the best!
600hp and they are the best regular type tires ive ever used to put it down.
