FVD Brombacher - Latest Development for 997.2/997.2S Street-Sport Muffler System

In our relentless quest to meet all of our customers exhaust needs; we wanted to add a system to our growing 997.2 line up that met the following criteria:

  • Reuses stock headers and cats and runs on OEM software (for warranty purposes).
  • Beautiful sound without interior drone.
  • Saves as much weight as possible.
  • Produces power.

Our latest exhaust development fits that build perfectly. I would like to introduce our “Brombacher” Street-Sport Muffler System….

Here are the facts:

- + 15 crank hp & + 13 crank torque
- 2 ½” (63.5 mm) diameter tubing (reduces thermal stress)
- Replaces OEM primary and secondary mufflers
- Reuses OEM headers and 600 cell cats (No CEL, retains OEM software)
- Weighs 20.94 lbs. (9.5 Kg)
- 33 lb. weight savings over factory system
- T 316 stainless steel for improved durability over T 304
- Uses the spring lock race system design to dampen vibration
- Intoxicating growl at idle, partial throttle and wide open throttle all without interior drone!!
- No DME programming necessary
- Reuses factory tips or any aftermarket tip designed to fit OEM exhaust (3.6 L models will require 3.8 L tips due to diameter difference)
- Tips are fully adjustable and pivot on 360-degree clamp
- Made in Germany

We noted a + 15 crank hp & + 13 crank torque gain, predominantly in the mid and top end. Our system merges the right and left banks for noise cancellation properties and uses longer inline mufflers to ensure that there is NO DRONE in the cabin. The increase in mass and velocity of exhaust flow reduced backpressure and also thermal stress. The resulting sound exhibited an aggressive, linear, firing-order dominated flat 6 Porsche® sound, which was louder and more distinguished. The tip position is fully adjustable for easy installation, which reduces the headaches of “one side is sitting lower than the other”.

We are so confident that you will love this system that we are backing it 100%. If you don't like it for any reason we will take it back, no questions asked!!

I will be posting video's in the next few day's....

Thanks,
Rhonda

looks impressive!
The weight savings is nice too.
I wonder what the sound difference is at cruising speeds. Seems like there is not much baffling in the system.........

That looks like the perfect solution for street use - light, small increase in power (justifies the expense) and very easily reversible if you have to go to the stealer. If it sounds as good as it looks then I'm having one.

Anyone want to buy a lightly-used Sharkwerks Bypass.....

All we need now is sound clips.... (please)

I would really like to know how this sounds compared to my Tubi system. Is it louder, more quiet, deeper or higher in pitch?

Hopefully this is priced "right" and I can sell my Tubi and sink no money into this system...

Rhonda, does this system use any straps or hangers to support it or does it hang from the headers?

In the pics, it looks like there's a couple of substantial band clamps around the mufflers. I guess they're picking up on the support bracket behind the pipes

Ian_UK1 - The system in the picture above is on Mr. Brombacher's 997.2 S in Germany. He has had all of our systems on his car and says that this is the most aggressive sounding system yet. He love's it and has really worked hard with M&M on making the design perfect, particularly the interior drone. I just checked in with FVD Germany on the video and it is raining today so I should have it tomorrow. I will keep everyone posted...

Mdrums - I wish I had more information for you on how it sounds but we just released this system in Germany. I have yet to hear it in person and am as anxious as you for an accurate video representation. All that I can say is M&M systems are pure joy to listen to and I am sure that this system will be just the same. The system uses straps that secure it to the primary muffler support, you can see it in the second picture that I posted. They are the flat straps going around the inline (conical) mufflers.

Thanks,
Rhonda

For those looking for the price of this exhaust, go on www.fvd.us and they have it listed there. Looks like a pretty good deal to me.
