proper front spacers

is it allowed to run 10mm spacers in front or are only 5mm spacers permitted there?

after suspension was altered for front ccw rims to dive a bit deeper inside my stock rims appear visually to sit too deep in wheel wells. i never cared about spacers question - need it only for fronts - what is the cheapest set out there and what sets do exist? i see $300 for 5mm set of 4 spacers on suncoast - it is more than i would want for visual comfort on rims i almost never use. is there something like cheaper set of 2 spacers only out there?

I have 7mm in the front, but I am sure that you can get away with 10mm. I would talk to Damon@tirerack.com and buy some H&R, they are a lot less then OEM.

do you need new lug bolts for 7mm spacer or are regular ones long enough? for 10mm i guess it is for sure should be different bolts, right?

i also have 7mm all-around.

u need new bolts with new spacers(5, 7 or 10). usually the bolts are provided with the spacers but u might have to purchase ur own wheel lock.

don't know if u need to clear 10mm in the front, but 10mm stuck out just a little too much for my personal taste.

try PMing bryan from RSS. i believe they have various sizes available.

BOL

Agreed that you need new bolts. There are different length bolts for different thicknesses of spacers. My 7mm are still set in further then I would like, and IIRC 10mm+ are all Hub centric, which are much better then just the plates.

I completely forgot about the RSS spacers, there's are a great price as well.

I have H&R, and they are great, however the RSS look good to. Either way you can't go wrong.

mfm3 is infamous around these parts
I wanted the wheels/tires to fill up the wheel openings a bit more, but I didn't want to spend a lot of $$ on spacers. I just purchased a set of 4, 7 mm spacers with bolts for $220 + $18 shipping. You can get a set of 2, 7 mm spacers and bolts for $120 + $15 shipping. I am pleased with the purchase.

Hummm...with my CCW 9x18's they brought the front wheels out to the edge and then I added the GT3 Cup lower control arms and they came out even more.

Something must be odd with your suspension set up.

not odd, when jrz`s were installed mechanic adjusted geometry in front so tires on ccws got upper outer edges inside of wheel wells - as i understand it is simply a combination of turned gt3 upper mounts and removed shims from lcas. as car was lowered he did it to make sure if tire on a wheel will not meet a fender.
15mm spacer should return is to where it was. i am not overly concerned, as soon as i will finally clean off all crap from my tires they will get back on a car.

btw what is your opinion - if driven way slow and moderately on a track, for how long will winter PA2 tires stay? or will they melt anyway and fall apart in pieces? i really do not want to buy 3rd tires set but perhaps people who say green group should not run on r-cmops are right, do not know.
it did not matter for me much, i just did not feel safe to go on odd tires to do something new - on those kumhos i can feel with my eyes closed. but plenty of people say it is bad to start learning track on r-comps, even if i think i know those tires quite well.
