I love the idea of the targa, and a cab (but cab's are for ....)

Now this is something worth a look? A cab, and a [retro] targa?? (cost fit, finish, etc all unknown)

Agree 100%.
I'd doubt that 2 of 100 owners could, even with several hours of track prep, ever tell the difference on the track, much less on regular streets.
Go with what you love. Don't be dissuaded by meaningless theorizing.

In the cab at rear, it's fun less than +/-40 mph !!! More ... ???
Be carefull for the health of the children with too much wind on their face.

The fact that it doesn't strike either chord fully leaves the driver somewhat in limbo .

That's why it's rare . It's even tougher in resale. Add to the mix that it's new MSRP price is near that of a Turbo ... even places it in price limbo too.
Yrralis you are so right on this one, I wish I had went cab with my turbo, waiting for the next generation 911's to come out and i will definitely go back to cab, most definitely....
