What a great teacher. I like his analogy of the pedals to the dance floor .

 

Pretty cool. I did a lap with Hurley at the school. Smooth as glass. One thing to point out - Hurley has very small feet. The instructors acknowledged that most can "heel and toe" more effectively by rolling the foot from brake to gas instead of using the heel and toe - that would have been more effective for him as well. This gives you better modulation of the brake as well. This is exactly what they teach you at the Porsche school and they take the time to spend a little class time on it, plus 45 minutes on a practice pad with an instructor practicing downshifting. That is the Barber track, really fun and nice an challenging.

Too bad that "moto man" guy can't drive. I'd love to see a video of Hurley teaching a more advanced student (like me, for example! come on! I could use a free private track lesson!).

I've seen this before and it is really a great example of how to begin to learn to drive at a high level.

Learning to dance on those pedals like Hurley does takes a lot of practice. But maintaining the balance of the car at high speed thru a turn is one of the best feelings you can have as you start to progress as a driver.

Also the video shows how great a track barber is where the PSDS is held, get there if you can.

The video makes the winter so much harder as I wait for the DE season to arrive in the NE.
