Shift at 3000???

Its a PORSCHE, shifting at 3,000 screams for an owner to be driving a Lincoln Town Car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!

Ya gotta excercise the engine, like it was meant, take the gears higher before changin, drive it like you stole it.................................

I have to agree with the above poster (robfxlr). Unless my engine is stone cold, I NEVER shift up below 4,000 rpm and the vast majority of shifts is between 5,000 and 6,000 rpm. That's as a daily driver in regular Orange County traffic.

The shifts are smoother and the car behaves better.

unless i am driving 'enthusiastically', my gear changes occur between 5-6k rpm (except for the 1st to 2nd, which usually occur about 4k rpm)

in town, i drive in with the tach needle hovering at 4k

on hwy, if just cruising, i may use the 6th gear to lower the rpm for better fuel economy.. otherwise, still driving at 4k rpm.

i almost always 'blip' my throttle when down shifting.. mostly cause i like the sound..lol

learn how to shift proerly, heel-toe, single-clutch, DC, etc and u will get the most out of ur manual transmission.. have fun !!

btw, got a close friend living in flower mounds

Exercise is good for living things. It promotes strength and rebuilding. For mechanical devices, it simply accelerates wear.

I drive a PDK

and I normally shift when it feels appropriate, which will be a different times depending on your mood or the driving situation

EJ-997 will become famous soon enough
For me shifting is easier when in "sport mode".
