Anyone with sport cats and PSE?
My PSE sounds pretty good to my ears, but I was debating adding some additional volume with a set of sport cats.
I was just wondering who has this combo and your comments on the sound/volume increase. Additionally, does the button still do a decent job of quieting the system down even with the cats?

I put a set of sport cats on my 02 996, no PSE, and the car sounded great, to me. Nice sound at idle and cruise with a really nice sound when getting into the gas. I would think the PSE would add another dimension to the equation.
Not the exact combo you're seeking info on, but maybe this is helpful:
See my signature -- I started with just the Gundos (essentially a PSE that's always on). I liked the tone but also wanted more volume across the band (and performance). Well, the cats/headers/plenum/intake combo cranked it up to, in my estimation, at least 3x as loud, maybe more on the top end. With just the Gundos, volume was tame until 4500 RPM. Now its starts growling immediately on the throttle and is absolutely bananas (in a great way) at 5K and above. Not for the faint of heart!
There was a poll here a while back you can search where about 3/4 of people said sport cats alone are good for 25-50% volume increase (more said 50% than 25%).
My advice -- Try hard to hear the combo in person first. Sound is so subjective and PSE and sports cats are too pricey IMO to experiment with (though both pieces seem to hold good value on the marketplace here). Or, if you really want just sound and are more ambivalent about performance, try the EVOM intake first -- it's a 1/3 the price of the cats.
Good luck.

I have PSE and AWE 200 cell sport cats. Yes, it's louder (loud enough to me) and the button still quiets it down a lot. Here are two poorly done videos by me.

I think I've seen those vid's before Michael. Thank you. It sounds pretty good to me!
I do have the Fabspeed silicon hose/filter combo, which may contribute some small additional sound.

no problems with CEL? I have EVOMS software, headers and B&B exhaust. Not sure whether to get AWE or Fab Speed sport cats. Boys at EVOMS use FAB Speed....

The EVOM software can be set to eliminate the potential for CELs. Give Ian at EVOM a call -- he's great.
Most aftermarket Cats utilize HJS (vendor on right) cats into their system. They are pretty much the industry standard for aftermarket Cats. AWE and GMG both utilize HJS... I am not sure about Fabspeed. With the GMG setup I initially would get a CEL every once in a while during the break-in phase. After that I never got one and no issues with them.

I had PSE and AWE 200 cell sport cats on my Targa and loved the combo. The best part was I could drive in quiet neighborhoods and sound pretty civilized. The cats came to life at higher revs in the PSE quiet mode. In loud mode it was louder with the cats, but not obnoxious, and very pleasing. BTW, I also had X51 headers, but doubt they made any significant contribution to the sound.
I say you should go for it.

Picked up my car this morning. Installed FVD headers (70 mm) and sport cats 200 cell, with PSE OFF it sounds VERY GOOD. With PSE ON it sounds AWESOME in my opinion. I will make a video soon and post. Major change from stock PSE only. 2009 C4S w/ PDK trans.
FYI- no drone from what I hear so far.
