While it still fit in the tray, the hole in the tray that the clamp would have to be screwed into didn't have any threads. So I had to take the 49 back and tell them to give me the 94R. 189.99.

Oh, and I had my battery out of the car for 10 hours - didn't have any issues with losing presets or time or anything like that after dropping in the replacment. PSM failure cleared in less than a minute of driving, as expected.
Contrary to many sizing tables, the correct size for the 997 (and 996 I believe) is H7/94R.

The Walmart battery cleared my issues with the emergency transmission trouble code. 1 year and so far a lot better than the factory!

Yes, and I forgot to mention that:
1) I used the battery tender hooked up to my leads when I removed the old battery and had no issues w/codes, etc.; and
2) The Interstate that I replaced was purchased and installed in September, 2013. I'm really surprised that it died so fast........

Anyone else have a quick demise Interstate story to tell?

Interstate batteries are usually pretty good. Didn't you have a 1 year replacement warranty?

Hi guys, What vent tube do you use? My car had the Interstate MTP-91 when I got it and I just purchased the Autozone Duralast Gold battery but am finding I only have a battery vent tube with no adapter to fit the hole in the Duralast battery.

Where do you get the adapter from? Autozone says they don't have it!

UPDATE: Nevermind, I found a suitable adapter at Autozone after heading to the store myself.

Hello, I'd like to change my battery in my 09 997.2. Im not comfortable doing it myself, and not very close to a Wal-Mart. Is there another chain(costco/sts etc) I should seek out before sucking it up and using the dealer? thanks

Sears, Autozone, Pep Boys, any automotive parts store.

Where are you located - maybe a forum member could help install - not difficult at all.

The closest Walmart to me is claiming the correct replacement is the H6. should I insist on the H7?

I think the best thing to do is to remove your current dead battery, take it with you to Walmart, show them the thing, and if that H6 doesn't have the same form factor, get the H7/94R variant.

I stupidly didn't take my battery to Sears, they told me it was XYZ model, and I took it home and... it was too big. So I brought it back and told them that the info I had initially (which I got off of this forum) was correct and they needed to give me what I had initially asked for.

Good luck. It's really an easy replace and install. If you know how to loosen a bolt and then tighten it, you can do it.
