Anybody know of any good shops that has done gundo hacks on 997.1 cars?

Guys, give DFister a call at FD Motorsports. The quality of the welds are pure art and I've seen what you get at a muffler shop -non stainless steel tubing/welds and substandard welds. Darin is well known in the 993 community and is highly regarded.

Yes, but I couldn't find a shop in San Diego that I could trust. I heard so many good things about Darin that I was convinced his set up would be just what I wanted. I called him on a Monday and I received the modded mufflers on Wednesday and installed them on Thursday. His welding is great and the mufflers were media blasted - you won't get that kind of quality at any local muffler shop (that I know of). Also, Darin's trade is custom ornamental fencing so his welding is top notch. I'm sending my stock mufflers back to Darin.

 

It's not just about welding the pipe, but the actual removal/install. I'm not about to attempt the removal/install of my muffler myself. There are actually some good muffler shops around, but I don't trust them taking my rear bumper apart. That's why I am looking for a local shop who has done this before.

Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.

 

Mesa Muffler, at least for the welding. IDK about the R/R of the mufflers. I took my mufflers off and took them in myself. Its really easy work to get them off yourself.
