New fixed wing - error codes
#46
Guy a quick question and picture request ,
I have a 997.2 and am struggling to find a Aero Cup/GT3 Rear Spoiler that designed for the 997.2, everything seems to be design for the 997.1 other than Porsche Direct OEM. The two guys who have had spoilers fitted how did you get around this? Have you simply ordered a 997.1 rear spoiler and adapted it to fit the 997.2 air intake set up, due to having two intakes that have to line up, unlike a 997.1 that requires only one.
If you have modified it to fit could i see a picture of the underside/ what work was carried out? or a link to a gen 2 spoiler which seems to be like trying to find hens teeth!
Thanks in advance Paza
2 years since the last action! lol..man you might not even have your cars anymore

nah mate not sure you understand the engine lid underside is different has nothing to do with coding , gen 1 has one inlet gen 2 has two inlets. Question was posed to the guys who have carried out the mod , and what they did to work around it ??? :/

Paza3,
There is a dedicated 997.2 GT3 wing that Precision Porsche produces. Just specify 997.2 when you order, and that's all you have to do. The new decklid has holes to mount the fan and the double snorkels. No modding needed. Just get the correct harness as I noted earlier in the thread and get dealer to use PIWIS to change your car setting to fixed wing.

Thanks for the post buddy , the only one they list for a 997.2 is a RS GT3 Wing which would not look good on a C2S as its designed firstly for a wide body car and is the RS wing so too extreme for a normal street car unless it had the full kit to go with it I guess .... a GT3 wing would be ideal but only lists a GT3 RS.
Also lists 05-12 so guess its a one size fits all ,

Cannot get the picture to load for some reason , to confirm its a RS wing but the title would suggest it is.
This was the design I was after, but lists gen 1 only

Paza3,
I would just give Tony at Precision Porsche a call and let him know what you're looking for.

I started my own thread and then found this one. I ordered the wrong wiring harness because there was some wrong info in another thred. heres to clarify:
If you have a fixed wing without a 3rd brake light you need: 997-612-670-71
If you have a wing WITH a 3rd brake light you need: 997 622 670 70
If you have a fixed wing without a 3rd brake light you need: 997-612-670-71
If you have a wing WITH a 3rd brake light you need: 997 622 670 70
I ordered the harness referenced above, part number 997 612 670 71 to eliminate the third brake light warning on my 2007 911 Turbo because I have a fixed GT2 style wing without third brake light. I am still getting the "Check Raised Brakelight" warning when I start the car. Tried disconnecting the battery and clearing my fault codes, but it always comes back.
I was under the impression the harness would eliminate this error as stated in this thread. There is no lead on the harness to plug the third brake light into, it's just the fan, the compartment light, and the main body harness connection.

thanks for the fast reply. I was aware I still needed to have the rear control module coded to fixed wing but I thought that only eliminated the spoiler malfunction warning over 75mph and the harness eliminated the third brake light warning. So it's safe to assume that once I get the wing coded properly in addition to the harness I will be good to go?
