They're OK. I live right next to Lake Mead National Park. They're bumpy and not very grippy. Texas Hill Country is better. Of course I lived in Germany from 2004 to 2009. Very best roads!

Congratulations, Steve. Your car sounds beautiful and I agree you'll love the San Antonio area. Nice people and good sports car roads. Well, technically I should confess I'm speaking of San Antonio 45 years ago and I suppose it might have changed. Some? Nah. Great people, so I'm sure their grandkids are just as good. You'll love it there.

Nugget is infamous around these parts
Even ignoring roads, there are six road course race tracks within driving distance of San Antonio and a very active PCA community. There's at least one track or autocross event every weekend pretty much from February through November (every other weekend in December and January

None of that will have changed in only forty years, so I'm sure Steve won't find the humidity oppressing. The rest of it is pretty much like the desert he lives in now and the one we retired to here almost thirty years ago. We honestly found San Antonio's weather to be great. Of course, we saw places like Manila where they warehouse all the humidity for these retail outlets elsewhere in the world.

Most of the time the humidity is not bad at all here, it does get very hot though. Should be about 80 with very low humidity today.
Roads aren't bad, but drivers are, especially if it rains.
When I get my P-car this summer, I plan on some DE events at Harris Hill Road, supposed to be a great track, in New Braunfels, not very far away.
Where in SA are you moving to, do you know yet?

I haven't decided yet. I've lived in San Antonio two other times. Like many, I like the Alamo Heights area. It's probably either there, Helotes, or Stone Oak area. The roads are greasy there at times but not like here in Vegas!

Looking very forward to F1 in 2012 in Austin! I'll probably go to Canada this year for the race in June.

Looking forward to it all!
