so I just found the first fault in my 4S
the flimsy shift ****

so I was doing some spirited driving and while shifting, the top of the **** came off and a piece broke
I have no idea how it happened.. In all my years of manual driving, this is the first time this happens lol





I went to suncoast's website, and they don't sell that piece alone.. and a new CF shift **** is like 700$
gonna go to the dealership tomorrow.. hopefully they replace it under warranty

if not, does anyone know where I can get this part without having to pay the stealership premium?

 

IMO the plastic OEM shifter just sucks. It feels wobbly and flimsy. Get the Rennline Aluminum shift **** for $100.

 

 

Actually there is an aluminum OEM **** that is made with real aluminum . Several years ago forum member Atomic80 explained it to me (post 2) .

Does anyone know where you can get just the shifter WITHOUT the leather boot in carbon? I have seen the carbon shifter with leather boot as a package from Suncoast but my boot is perfect. I just want to replace my shifter stick.

the carbon one is $140. Is there a cheaper stock replacement available? I verified with sun coast, they only sell the entire kit.

 

There's nothing flimsy about mine or the last two I owned. Simply because yours broke, doesn't make the product line flimsy. I'm sure if you don't want to spend the $140 or so you can fix the one you have with a good epoxy.
