997.2 LED DRL Problem/Question

My driver side DRL/Turn Signal looked yellowish compared to the passenger side. Took it to my local Porsche dealer and they ordered the new driver's side drivingl iight assembly and I had it installed today. Unfortunately, the new one seems yellowish still. Now they are speculating that the passenger side is abnormally white and may need to replace it. They say they have to consult Porsche and their Service Manager. Has anyone encountered this problem? Thanks

Strange problem. I've not run into that issue. Please post the solution when you get it resolved.

I'm pretty sure he's referring to the color temperature (kelvin). My DRLs appear to be the same color temperature, but the LED light strip just above the DRLs appear to be a different color temperature. One is more yellow than the other.

Of course, these only illuminate when the headlights are on. Thinking about taking it to my local dealer this week.

it is the LED Strip above the DRLs. Driver's side is more yellow than the passenger's side. If the headlights are not on, it makes the whole DRL look yellower too. Dealer has replace the whole assembly, still the same. Will know Monday what Porsche and Service Manager will say.

in that case I would say low voltage on that side. The voltage must be supplied by an external power supply , maybe some part of the headlites ballast. Or maybe further away like the headlits switch or fuse panel or relay, etc. But some voltage drop to that side. Have them check the voltage to that led strip.

That's a good point. I am suspecting that it has something to do with a module for LEDs. Thanks

No smart enough or don't care enough. Next time you have it check park the car in a shade, it would show more.
Spoke to the dealer today. They said they will order me a set, Left and Right, and go from there. If it still won't match, they'll investigate further into the modules, etc.

I have noticed the same thing on my 997.2. One side looks like it has a higher colour temperature than the other. It looks more 'purple-ish tinge' than the other which is more white.
