Feeble iPod Output Question?
Feeble iPod Output Question?
Brand spanking new C4s Cab came in this week (I will wash and take pics for the forum this weekend). So, I brought out my iPod and plugged it in with the proper cables, and there is a substantial volume and quality difference between that and the XM Radio. XM is rich, iPod is thin...
Is this typical, or do I have to change some settings, or perhaps a faulty cable?
Any ideas?
Thanks!
John

Indeed, I pulled the plug and there were two pins bent. Tried to bend back and they broke... Guess I'll be ordering another one...
Thanks,

By "proper cable" you mean the Porsche-provided Y-cable (DIN + USB)?
I tried using an after-market iPod extension cable to extend the reach longer than Y-length. Ended up with very weak output. Must have been a significant impedance mis-match.

Remember there are difference in the volumes from sources and tracks on sources. The level at which your ipod content is encoded vs what comes out the xm tuner can be different.. you can level the volume on your ipod content to be uniform, and I think, may be able to adjust the volumes of various sources relative to each other... but that may just be for things like the nav voice vs other audio sources.

The problem was bent/broken pins on the DIN...
