Need Help:: Is illuminated door sill cover under CPO warranty?

My driver side aluminum illuminated door sill light went out, dealer said it was some door module which triggers the light to come on is bad which was replaced but sill still doesn't light up. He says that sill itself needs to be replaced but not covered under CPO warranty? is this true?
any help and /or suggestion on on this would be appreciated.

Hmm, not sure. Doesn't sound right to me to be honest ... I mean, a warranty should cover everything in the car, right? Who'd you talk to, HBL?

from the Porsche NA CPO FAQ:

What does the Porsche Approved Certified Pre-Owned Limited Warranty cover?
The Porsche Approved Certified Preowned Limited Warranty covers all parts in the following components and assemblies:

Engine
Fuel / Cooling system
Power train / transmission
Suspension / Steering
Brake system
Heating / Air conditioning
Electrical Systems
Body
Comfort Electronics

I would be asking my dealer how they consider an illuminated door sill NOT part of an electrical system or a comfort electronic.

The dealer is correct in stating that the entire door sill will need to be replaced. A burned out door sill is a very common problem. The entire sill will need to be replaced as Porsche does not provide a part number for the electrical illumination.

I am not sure if it is or is not covered by CPO - if you are unhappy with the service department's decision, you could call PCNA and ask the regional rep to evaluate.

K997, I am working with Alex at HBL and he is trying to help me get this replace under warranty.
I did google search and found that CPO warranty is as good as new car warranty which covers everything except wear/tear items like brakes, wipers tires etc.
Alex is being very helpful and will let me know tomorrow about what he finds out.

Yep, Alex is a good guy. I work with him every time I pay a visit to the dealer as well. He usually finds a way to make things work, so I'm willing to bet all will be good in the end.

Update, Got the call back from service rep and they are going to cover it under warranty. They'll have to order the part which will take about week.
Alex is great guy to work with at HBL

Win! The replacement parts (if you had to pay for them) are about $600-800!
