I have had a good experience with Rennwerke in Elmsford, NY (they are in Westchester, about 40 minutes from the city). Call and speak to John (Cheech) Fernandez 914-592-4006 to see what arrangements you can make. I'm sorry I'm not aware of anyone actually in NYC. Hope this helps.

I would use a dealer not an indy. PPI's at a dealer are cheap (about $250) so why not go there and have more accountability than you'd get with an indy. Either Manhattan Motorcars in NYC or town motors porsche in englewood, NJ (5 minutes from NYC).

 

Thanks guys appreciate, purchasing a car without third party inspection worries me.

I'd add my endorsement for Manhattan Motorsports, I used them when I purchased a used 2009 C2S last summer and was happy with their work.

 

TKX Performance in Long Island. Ask for Task. Had my 997 serviced there last week. Very professional, very reasonable and if the inventory of 997 TT's there for mods is any indication, well respected.

 

Where exactly is the car/owner located.

Rennwerke in Elmsford (lower westchester) is excellent.

JSS performance in Roslyn (Nassau County) is phenomenal.

I would never consider going to a dealer...an independent is the way to go.

You need a DME scan and a proper PPI.

New Country Porsche in Greenwich CT would be very good. It's 25 mi. north of the city. They will provide the Porsche checklist and inspect everything, tire depth, brake depth, meter the paint, etc.

thank you all who have responded to this request. I have decided not to go with the car I was going to purchase from Manhattan Motor Cars. They were nice to deal with just was not sold on the colour combination. On the hunt again!!
