It's because i do not know if I would not be in fault with the rules of the forum, I do not want that this post is taken as something of commercial. I benefitted from the solution and I want to share it.

 

Some guys of 6speed have asked the infos. For +/- 70 USD, that's a good deal.

I had on mine 997s-2005 an ancient version ... PCM 2.1 with 1.0 logiciel and 2004 DVD !
I've now 3.0 version with the 2010 DVD.
The PCenters have only to keep their gilded version

How do you go from PCM 2.1 to PCM 3.0 with just software - I thought PCM 3.0 was completely different hardware?

 

I'm sorry, my PCM is always the same but the software was 1.0 and now 3.0 !
The Traffic messages are added by exemple.

I have done update with MY08 DVDs and what I have is:

SW version 4.0

Nav: 06179436/3306
PCM: 05395BD1/4505

I a not sure why are you still on version 3 if you did most recent update. But it may be if you have MY05 car then PCM does not go into Ver. 4.

What I do want to know from any of USA drivers who did most recent update, more recent than MY08 I have - do we get live traffic info in the navigation finally working or is it still not working? Maps in MY08 are mostly fine with some minor exceptions so i can live with it but if they fixed live traffic info data and it finally shows up on maps that would be great.

but i kinda doubt it.

It seems 05 no ? But for me, it's yet a big difference because the PCM can read now new DVD , before he can't !!! Ive seen signal of works on the road on maps.

 

I'm assuming Vincent is in BE so his PCM version/firmware and software may be very different than what is used in the US.
