2011 C2S Cab Buying Advice
2011 C2S Cab Buying Advice
Thinking of pulling the trigger on a new 2011 C2S cab. A local dealer quoted me about $9200 off on a car with a sticker price of just under $116K. There appears to be a decent selection of comparably equipped cars around. Is this price close to rock bottom, or does anyone think I can do better?
541 - Front Seat Ventilation
686 - XM Radio
680 - BOSE© Surround Sound System
672 - Extend Navigation Mod-PCM 3.0
P36 - Infotainment Package
342 - Heated Seats - Front
P15 - Electronically Adjust Seats
P35 - Comfort Package
421 - 19" Turbo II Wheel
XPT - Storage Bin Lid w/Porsche Crst
640 - Sport Chrono Package Plus
603 - Dynamic Cornering Light
250 - Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK)
267 - Automatically Dimming Interior
Good selection of options. What is the color? & do you need a C4s because of the snow? Base price of the car has ~ 10.5% mark up & the option mark up of ~ 16%. Porsche has provided the dealers w/ $10,000 extra trade in money for trading in a Porsche. The 2012 are on the way in so I think your deal can get better. Saturday July 30th may be a good date to go back to them. Good luck & enjoy your purchase.
I think that is a nice deal, the options are mostly great IMO, I ended up w/dynamic cornering lights on mine even though I don't really need/want them. Also nice to see the PDK has the paddle wheel instead of the buttons, those are rarer here. I'd try to squeeze a little more out of it, if possible, but as it is, it's a fair price for both parties IMO. Are you trading in?
At the end of the day, if it's really the car you want with the options you want, a grand or two isn't going to matter when it's parked in your garage.

Update:
Just checked TrueCar pricing, searching near Danbury, CT (random city), and at least one dealer (228 miles away from this city) will offer a 2011 C2S cab, regardless of options, for Invoice + $2,000 which is 8-9% off MSRP. This might be slightly better than your offer. Check it out. Alternatively, if you wait until December, I bet the 2011's will sell for invoice or slightly lower, based on previous year's data.

I just got my 2012 C2S cab for about $5K below sticker. It's one of those really gorgeous cars that someone will walk in the showroom and fall in love with enough to buy on impulse, so I think the price was reasonable for a 2012. Plus, the salesperson invested a lot of time in me (at least 20 test drives over more than a year), so I felt that he'd been through enough and deserved a decent commission.
I would expect more of a discount on a 2011, so $9200 below sticker seems reasonble to me.

I had done the truecar pricing and the dealer selling at $2000 over invoice is in MD, about 300 miles away. He doesn't have a car in inventory but offered to get one. I'm hoping to get the local guy to match or come very close. I'm looking at 2011 vs. 2012 because I would do a 27 month lease and the residuals are exactly the same--67% on PDK and 68% on manual. Porsche's Conquest program would cover the last few payments on my existing lease, and the 27 month lease minimizes the winter garage time.
I was in the same boat, so I did a fly-and-drive to Socal recently and picked up a 2012 for a % off MSRP that I was happy with. At least several socal locations were happy to discount newly arrived 2012's by 5-7% off MSRP, whereas in norcal, this didn't really seem like it was the case. In fact, some norcal dealers wouldn't even budge from 5% off MSRP for a 2011! Good luck.
