PSM light coming on.......
PSM light coming on.......
My PSM is engaging and the light has come on 3-4 times now (in 2 days) for what seems to be no apparent reason. 2x I was in a turn and the car got a little squirrely but only after the PSM engaged. I am thinking I might have a faulty sensor? Anyone experience this? Cost to repair?
Is your ABS light also coming on? If so there is a switch on the inside at the top of the brake pedal arm that is known to go bad. When it does both the ABS & PSM lights will come on. The cost for the part is less then $25.
read the code, I get P4420 sometimes on a track and it rlated to 'rate-of-turn' or yaw sensor. so idea where is it and how to deal with it. But I never get this during regular driving, only on a track in a sweeper turns. P4440 is a code for steering abgle sensor, if you get that one you need to calibrate it.
I have never tracked the car. This is a Daily Driver. The rear tires were changed about a week ago. The only light I have seen come on is the PSM engaging light. The first time it happened I was actually braking coming up to a stop sign. I thought the ABS had engaged.

but it never happened when coming to a stop.
i resolved it by switching to PS2s.
One other thought is how new is the battery? Sometimes a weak battery can throw a code and one of the first lights to pop up is the PSM and PASM. A couple of weeks before my battery went out I use to get all sorts of strange lights coming on and turning off. After the new battery 18 months ago no more problems.
I am not sure if the stopping was related. I did just put on a new set of rear Hankooks, but they were the same as what the previous owner had on and I have had the car for just about a year.

I just called the dealer.....car scheduled for Tuesday. I'll update on what they find.

some have stated that new alignment may correct the odd behavior
Do a couple of Porsche driver training days, switch to Michelins. Remember even the slightest harsh input can trigger it. Weight distribution etc is very different to most cars and when you figure out how to take advantage of it these things are awesome. Im glad I did the driver training before taking delivery.
May not be your problem but worth reviewing. Ive noticed the same with worn tyres thus the comments.

it may be related to the Hankooks..

Just got the car back from the dealership and they thought it might have something to do with my aftermarket lugs not seating fully and causing a little wobble in my wheels when i am in a turn......lugs swapped out and still doing it..........Only when I am in a left turn, over 50 MPH and sharp enough to put a good amount of weight on the right side. The dealership is a little perplexed as the only codes showing are a low voltage.. anyone have any thoughts??????
