I've done it. Since the baby will be rear facing, the only way my seat worked was the passenger seat had to be all the way forward and the recline all the way up as to render the passenger seat unusable. It did work though.

You'd think someone out there would come up with a good solution that works in 911s while retaining the function of the front seats, but I guess people with 911s with newborns get more practical cars to carry their babies around.

I have twins who are 10lbs now and I'm looking to fit both in the back seats. Anyone have any suggestions for 2 small kids in the 997 legally? Can 2 rear facing car seats fit in the rear? If so what model?

This just sounds like an all around bad idea man ... focus on your child, not the car. I know Porsche is all about their "practical" advertising campaign these days, but really ... ?

Get something that will be safe for your child.

No, baby seat was put in rear passenger seat behind front passenger seat. Properly belted in.

Porsche does make a baby seat for infants that is rear facing that goes in front passenger seat. Note you will need the key to deactivate the front passenger air bag. This seat is also not cheap.

Lease a Camry for 2-3 yrs for $200 a month to haul the kids around.

Once your kid(s) are in forward facing seats you can use these http://www.amazon.com/Sunshine-Kids-...2333915&sr=8-1
I had to buy one of these to fit my newborn and my 4 yr old in the back of my Jeep comfortably.

no dice on 2 newborns like was already posted. i have a 9 month old i've been trucking around since birth. She will soon graduate to a Britax roundabout 55. If we have a 2nd child, oldest will go behind me with the newborn behind passenger rear facing. You can't go rear facing without pushing the front seat up substantially.

For me, its not an issue as I just drop my kid off at daycare (no other passengers). Even if we could fit, we probably wouldnt pack the whole family in the pcar. you can't fit a stroller and everything else you'd need for an outing.

With the pcar, you should always have an alternate vehicle, because its obviously not the "everything" solution...

TwinTurboM3,
Congrats on your upcoming arrival. I would think an M3 would be much easier to deal with toting around a rear facing newborn. A 911 can be done but is much easier to do when your child is forward facing.

I agree, I have a minivan and mdx for family duties. It's not worth bending over and trying to get the seat in and trying to strap them up.
