997 Mileage

I'm just curious: I recently bought my first Pcar, a 2007 Carrera S. The rated mpg for the car is 18/26, which I know is probably a bit optimistic. I only seem to be getting 19 mpg or so, though, running on premium. This is combined city/highway, with a highway predominance, and I feel like I'm driving reasonably conservatively. Does my mileage seem to jibe with other people's experience?

That matches mine. On long freeway trips, I get 20-21.
On mostly surface streets, it drops to 15-16.

These numbers are from before I added a turbo to my C2S.

Now I'm probably looking at 12 mpg on surface streets

I used mine as a daily driver for about a year and I averaged between 18-19 combination city and highway. When I would take it on long highway trips and used 6th gear liberally, I'd get 27-28.

I only got 12 around town and averaged 15-16 with highway thrown in. Anyone getting near 20 mpg must be driving REALLY slowly.

I am getting about 17 in mixed predominantly city driving, but with E10 here I expected a little loss in mpg.

16.4mpg for my first 1200 miles in the new car, about a 50/50 split to backroads and highway.

The PDK cars have a very tall 7th gear so they get good milage on long highway runs. If you leave the PDK in normal mode they do everything (annoyingly) possible to get better milage. If I leave mine in Sport the milage drops significantly.

My '06 C2 gets ~ 19 around town and up to 28 on the highway. If I keep the car just below 75 I can get ~ 28 it I go a couple MPH above 75 it drops to around 26... I usually drive ~ 80 on the highway

In the kind of city traffic I drive, I only get 10 mpg on my truck (CTT)! On the highway, I get 15 mpg. I will justify the purchase of the 997 I am currently looking for by telling the wife that it will be more economical to run than the CTT

I suffer from "lead foot syndrome". I'm prolly 14 mph city driving and bump up to 16 with highway thrown in.
