Extended warrantee....2006 C2S
Extended warrantee....2006 C2S
I am the second owner of a 2006 C2S purchased as a CPO from a Porsche dealer in another state.
My CPO status is about to expire. The car has 30,000 miles.
Are there companies that offer extended warrantees for these cars?
Any recommendations?
Thank you

There are dozens of companies that offer extended warranties for your car. My advice is threefold:
- Ask you dealer/independent who they have good experiences working with.
- Do your research to make sure the company underwriting the policies is in good financial standing.
- If you're not already involved, get involved in your local PCA and ask those members who they use.
I recently sold my 997 but had I kept it, my research was pointing me towards a Fidelity backed policy which was 4 years/48,000 miles with a $500 deductible at a cost of about $3,500. You can find cheaper, you can find more expensive but for me, that was looking to be the winner.

I did a ton of research before I pulled the trigger on an extended warranty for my '06 C2. My best advice is to ask the local Porsche mechanics who they have had the best luck with. I ended up with Select. Thus far they have paid for an air bag repair with out a problem. I'd also check out Warranty Direct. I've heard good things about them. Good luck.
I dealt with Fidelity, Easy Care, and Total protection while I was working at the dealer. All of them are pretty easy to deal with. I personally would go with Fidelity or Easy Care.
Note: Please read the contract clearly. With these service contract companies they put everything in black and white to cover their rear end.
Good luck. Feel free to PM me for any questions.

Whatever you do, definitely get an exclusionary policy, it states specifically what the warranty does not cover. My warranty has already paid for itself in less than 2 years of ownership. Your mileage may vary though. 3.5 years and or 63,000 miles to go!
Easy Care seems to be the highest rated. It would be a good idea to get a quote BEFORE your CPO runs out. Usually it is a lot cheaper to get it set up before the CPO runs out!

I'm in the exact same boat. My CPO expires in two weeks and I have an appointment with dealer to look it over with a fine tooth comb.
I've decided to forgo the extended warranty. I thought I would be nervous about it and that's why I started researching things but the expense just seems unjustifiable to me.
