Small Mod...from Bumperplugs

Ever since I got my GTS, I've been a little at odds with the look of the Black CenterLocks. I love the look of the wheel, but couldn't quite place what wasn't right...until a couple of weeks ago: too many different colors/shades on the wheel.

Basically, the GTS comes with black wheels, but the centerlock nuts is gray/silver, and the center cap is yet another shade of silver. So my OCD took over, and I came with an answer: Black out the Center Caps! So, off to BumperPlugs they went.

Thanks to Eric at Bumperplugs for getting these done with the typical high-quality we've all learned to expect. They really look great. I'm still considering swapping for Black Centerlock Nuts, but for now, quite happy with the results.

Attached is a picture from before, and a (blurry) pic from today. After I get a chance to clean the car up again, I'll post better images.

i relate to the "OCDness". I had to find black caps and black bolt covers (no center locks here).

Looks good!

dallascajun-
don't you think the wheels would look better too without the silver trim (don't know what else to call this)? IMO, the GTS's would look much better if the whole wheel was black.

My opinion is the saving grace of black wheels is when the edge isn't painted black. When they're all black, they have the 'test/prototype car' look...at least that's my opinion. I won't put all black wheels on my car.

i like the idea of a black wheel with a silver/polished lip on a silver car, cause it sets the rims apart from the tires and matches the body color BUT, call me nitpicky, i think it would look better and much sportier if it (meaning the silver lip) was thinner, like on this one:

My thoughts as well. The silver lip defines the wheel from the tire. As for that pic, that's one thin line! Would have to see a pic of it mounted on a car to see how noticeable it is. I really like the size of the silver edge on mine.

don`t get me wrong, it´s not bad looking.
something like this (those are 20" tho), just a thin silver pinstripe:

P.S. it would also make your wheels look bigger.
