305-30-19

I have 295-30-19 rears now and they are about ready to be replaced. I would like to move up to a 305-30-19 but I am not sure if they will fit with out spacers. The rims are stock and so is the suspension. Anyone know if they would fit with out spacers?

I've had 305/30/19 on the rears with and without spacers. They look much better than the 295s.

Also, if you go to Tirerack and choose your vehicle, the website will list all of the tires that fit your car.

I have them on an 06 911S. Fit fine without spacers on stock wheels but I'm not as impressed with the minimal change in appearance as I thought I would be.

I've got 305s on my C2S, no spacers, they fit fine.

As for the looks, I agree you can't really tell, but you get to say your rear tires are 12" wide!

With the 305 on the stock C2S set-up that came with 295, does the tire still sit fully within the wheel well? I'm more concerned about protecting the paint from stone chips than the width of the tires (295s look good enough to me). But, at Tire Rack the 305 costs less. So, if the 305 looks a little better, no increased risk of stone chips, I'll go that route.

You are only moving the outside out 5mm, or about 1/5 of an inch, so no big deal.

Good point, I didn't think about it, but 5mm goes to the inside and 5mm to the outside. Is there any reason by the engineers didn't put 305's to begin with? I.e, would that 10mm have a negative effect on performance?

I have 305s on stock wheels with OEM 5mm spacers and the wheels still fit inside the wheel well. They are a little less than flush with the wheel well.

It all depends on your wheel offsets. It should be fine with stock wheels. They would rub with my aftermarket AG's.

You are fine. The turbo has 305s on an 11 inch rim as well.

Out of curiousty does 305 make better handling?

I've since done some further reading. It seems that the wider rear tire might make for a bit more straight line grip but in the corners the change in width ratio front to back will produce more understeer (push). Though, for most this will likely be imperceptible.

What I'm still left wondering about is the larger diameter of the 305 vs. the 295. There is not much difference, but I would like to know if that would potentially have any negative effects on the car.
