Of course managed to do this whilst it was windy and the LCD was moved and came apart. Does anybody have any instructions on how the LCD, white cradle, backing piece and filler go back together?

Particularly which way up and sequence?

Many thanks.

Waste of money, and when I complained to this company, based in SPAIN, they told me to pound sand. I installed a supercharger in my 997 without any problems, so, frankly, stickers should be no problem. Move on from these guys.
CATTMAN

that is clearly a bad installation issue, Iīm not moving on since I have the same kit from climarepair installed by myself on my car and Iīm happy with the results, and other members are happy too as far as I can tell.

This is mine after 6 months installed

Good enough for me, prior to this it was all white and ugly

Mine came apart too. Been awhile but it seemed to me it was pretty obvious putting back together. The white bracket only looked correct in the correct position. The conductors in the silicone strips have to line up with the pads on the pcb.

Dials for sale

Just a heads up that I have listed my old temperature and fan speed adjustment dials for sale in the marketplace on 6speed. I picked up a pair of already refinished buttons from the local dealership and don't need my old dials anymore.

These would be good for someone who needs an extra set, or for someone who wants to experiment with refinishing them on a spare set.

Price is $50 (for the pair) plus $10 for shipping within the US.

*3D scan*

As many of the early 997 owners have found, these pieces that couldn't cost more than $1 to produce stick out like a sore thumb when they look start to peel.

I wanted to gauge the interest on this thread/forum to see if I am able to reproduce this button how many people would buy them for $50 each.

The process would involve a HD 3D scan which I haven't found anyone to produce at the proper quality for less than $1000 and possibly some reverse engineering at $125/hour.

Lets say this process just costs me a $1000. Break even would be selling 20 units. 2/person. Do we have 10 people that would be interested???

Details - I am talking about reproducing a high quality black polycarbonate, or durable resin that perfectly replicates the current temp/fan buttons but won't peel because it is actually black, not white with black rubber/paint.

Let me know

Thumbs up Fix for buttons with illumination

hi guys thought i would share this with you as i refinished my buttons and managed to keep the illumination and symbols using stickers / decals sourced from a model shop. Basically i stripped the buttons stuck on the stickers that cost me Ģ5 about 8$ and then repainted them. I also have put a link showing a post i put on a UK site giving a guide how i did it and how to get them out of your car.

I had mine done by stickynomore.com and they look like brand new OEM buttons. Finish also seems very durable and is holding up great thus far.

I also considered the stickynomore option, but

1. I donīt want to leave my car several days/weeks without the climate unit
2. I prefer to buy new buttons rather than spend the same amount of money in having my old buttons painted (eventually they will peel off again). The climarepair switches are not painted but built with black plastic, so black "will never wear off" (if that makes sense).

Cheers

if you 3D print them out of black polymer, how does the illumination work, or will they just be solid black buttons without any words that are illuminated?

if you can recreate a permanent solution with illumination, I'm in for 4 Button's? You going to do radio ***** too?
